Mobility and GardeningTuesday, 6 July 2010 Many of Great British Mobility customers have mobility problems and these can hinder them getting into the garden to do whats necessary to keep it tidy. Not only that but for some of our customers, gardening is or was a much loved hobby that now seems impossible. So to try and help we ran an article in our last issue of "The Standard", our company newsletter. This can be viewed or downloaded as a pdf from the main news page of this website in the bottom right hand corner. As a result of this article we have received many letters from our customers asking for advice on how to carry out numerous tasks, questions about specialised garden tools that could help people with arthritis and other conditions. We also received questions about creating sensory gardens for customers who have impaired eyesight. At Great British Mobility our chosen field of expertise is Rise and Recline Chairs, Adjustable beds, Scooters and Bathing aids. We don't profess to be experts about everything especially gardening. So we have a couple of things we can do to help. We have a trained horticulturist who you can email or write to and who is more than happy to give you advice on planting and problems with plants. You can contact Digger at: diggers.tips@greatbritishmobility.com or by writing in to: Diggers Tips, The Marketing Department, Great British Mobility, The Grange, Hewish, Bristol. BS24 6RR. Alternatively we have found a website that we think you could find really useful at: This website is predominantly for disabled gardeners but having looked through some of the helpful suggestions and the specialised gardening tools, we believe that all our customers may find the site useful. Happy gardening!!
